  • Dust of Europe is a feature documentary that follows Michael Kershner as he tracks the path of his great-grandfather from Burlington, Vermont to Turysk, Ukraine. In 1908 Joseph Kershner arrived in the United States, an Jewish immigrant from Europe hoping to forget his history and break away from the hatred and bigotry that covered the lands. But in 1920, upon receiving a desperate plea for help from his wife’s family, Joseph sold his successful tailoring business and embarked on a dangerous journey back to Europe to confront his past and save 19 individuals’ lives. This is a film that wrestles with where we come from, how we evolve and the legacy of those who have laid the foundations of our lives.
